  • Hi I’m Claire, I am a passionate Nutritionist who will work cohesively and respectfully with you to improve your health and energy levels. I will listen intently to you to gain an accurate insight into your condition and then work with you in setting nutritional and lifestyle goals to formulate your treatment plan. I believe that your input is critical in goal setting to ensure successful implementation and management on a day to day basis.

  • Each treatment plan provides nutritional advice that is evidence-based and individually tailored to your specific needs as everyone is different.

  • Nutrition has become complicated with so much conflicting information available. I will guide you through relevant and accurate nutritional advice to address your individual concerns and aim for symptomatic relief as well as focusing on resolving the cause. Any deficiencies identified will be targeted through food as well as supplements if required.

  • I embrace the opportunity to help you identify food allergies/intolerances and design nutritionally sound menus to decrease symptoms whilst continuing to enjoy food.

  • Through experience I have found gut health to be central to improving health and completed further learning to become a GAPS practitioner. (GAPS=Gut And Psychology/physiology Syndrome).

  • I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story and supporting you back to good health through nutrition.

Why I became a Nutritionist.

As the mother of four children who all had various health challenges including asthma, eczema, sinusitis, headaches, behavioural issues, allergies and intolerances, I was frustrated and searching for answers. While visits to hospital and medications managed certain situations it did not fix my children’s health.

With a medical background in nursing, I was looking for solutions and turned to food. By reading food labels I was disturbed to discover that there were a lot more ingredients in foods than I expected. Upon further investigation I was shocked at the overwhelming evidence of the negative health implications of food additives. As I gradually removed these foods from my family’s diet I noticed significant improvements in behaviour, better sleep, decreased eczema and calmer children.

From there, I went on to manage and consult in a health service which involved educating parents about food additives, their health implications, where to find them and how to avoid them.

Through my consulting work I noted the rapidly growing incidences of certain health issues in children and adults including IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), asthma, eczema, autism spectrum, ADHD, behavioural issues, food intolerances, gastrointestinal issues, bed wetting and more. I also noted that many parents were overwhelmed and really struggling.

After spending many frustrating years trying to find a practitioner who understood how food can harm or heal the body, my goal then became to become that practitioner. This prompted me to study Nutritional Medicine and delve deeper into finding ways to improve these conditions.

I finally found the answers I was searching for and successfully navigated my four children through allergies, intolerances, eczema, asthma and more with food that improved their health and behaviour dramatically. Being a parent became so much easier!

Claire now practices Nutritional Medicine in Geelong where she tailors individual treatment plans focusing on the science of food to improve each client’s health situation with a focus on gut health.
